Luminous... parolier!

For those of you who have no clue and think it the same as a parrot; "un parolier" is a lyricist - not particularly a songwriter (a.k.a. chansonnier), although he can double as that too. Following here, is a song I penned to enter a contest judged by namesake and even lookalike of mine Luc de Larochellière... himself un chansonnier et parolier - oui. But, evidently, a lousy judge...

Can't shake the very désagréable feeling that this set of lyrics did not meet with LdeL's approval because of the unfortunate circumstances at the time - the fact that a spoof of the soap that primetime forgot, Dynasty, titled "Le Coeur A Ses Raisons" was broadcast weekly on the local (but also national - now) network known as TVA... Since I took to watching less and less LOCAL TV (thanks to the international portals to the world that are both the INTERNET and CABLE too - to some extent!) I knew not about this irreverent show that spoofs to the extreme all of daytime and prime time soaps alike, when I chose the thematic of my song. It must have played some factor in the decision, surely... Especially considering that I wrote these lyrics thinking that they would specifically match LdeL's style... I even imagined him singing it! (Well, either him or Pierre Lapointe!)
It's got to be those guys - and not my own songstress of a cousin, São! The lyrics would make as much sense if sung by her as it made sense to have Isabelle Boulay cover the old Jean Leloup hit "1990" on that other irreverent show (talk-show this time) - "Belle Et Bum"; which I only caught to watch said cuz's appearance in it! Oh well - so much for all that...! It may have been a tad ridiculous to think that LdeL would sing it so soon - but not as ridiculous as creating the incongruous stage moment by attributing the wrong song to the "unfit to sing it artist" actually is! ;)

Or a funnyman...! ;)
